Guided Primary Series Classes to Benefit The Trini Foundation
September is National Recovery Month and on Sunday, September 17th the community at Mysore Philadelphia will be standing with our friends at the Trini Foundation 501(c)3 to help raise funds to provide access to the life-changing practice of Ashtanga Yoga to individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
Join us for two Guided Primary Series classes taught by Jen Spangenberg. These classes are open to ALL LEVELS - no prior experience required and modifications will be offered. Classes will take place at 8am and 10am.
Following the second class Meghan Kirk (Authorized Level 2, KPJAYI) will offer a talk, chanting, gentle pranayama and chai at 11:30 am, following the conclusion of the second class. Suggested donations (made in person at the time of the class) are $15+ for visiting students, $5+ for monthly card holders. The talk is free and open to all, however we would ask an additional donation of $2 for chai.
Space is limited in the classes and pre-registration is required.
Introduction to Sanskrit for Yogis
An understanding of Sanskrit can help to connect us to the rich fabric of philosophy from which the yoga tradition emerged and thus deepen our practice. Sanskrit study can be a meditation in itself and helps to cultivate concentration. It is also fun! This course is ideal for both beginners and those with some experience who would like to reinvigorate their studies.
Dates: Saturdays: September 23rd, October 28th, November 18th / Time: 1 - 3:30pm
